Rail Flatcar Special for Spray Booth
Customized rail-guided electric flatcars for the safe and efficient transfer of large steel structures and heavy workpieces between fabrication areas and spray booth processes.
Heavy Workpiece Transfer for Surface Coating Process
In heavy machinery manufacturing, large welded structures, machine components and fabricated steel parts often need to pass through several production stages before final assembly.
One of the key stages is surface treatment and painting. Due to the size and weight of these workpieces, moving them into and out of the spray booth can become a significant material-handling challenge.
For this project, BECHUR provided a customized rail-guided electric flatcar solution designed specifically for material transfer between the fabrication workshop and spray booth.
The rail-guided configuration provides a defined transportation path, while the large low-profile platform allows different heavy workpieces to be loaded directly onto the flatcar for process-to-process transfer.
Challenges of Transporting Large Components Into the Spray Booth
The customer required a dedicated transportation system capable of connecting the workshop and coating area while accommodating different sizes and shapes of heavy steel workpieces.
Dedicated Rail Flatcar for Spray Booth Material Handling
BECHUR developed a customized rail electric flatcar specifically for the customer’s surface coating workflow. The vehicle travels along the predetermined workshop rail route and carries the workpiece directly to the spray booth.
The low-profile platform provides a large and stable loading surface for structural components, fabricated parts and other heavy industrial workpieces.
By integrating the transfer cart with the customer’s existing overhead crane and spray booth layout, the workpiece can be loaded onto the flatcar, transferred to the coating area and removed after painting without unnecessary intermediate handling.
Process Integration: Fabrication Workshop → Rail Transfer → Spray Booth → Coating Process → Rail Transfer → Next Production Stage
Rail Flatcar Working Inside the Coating Area
Designed Around the Spray Booth Transfer Process
Stable Rail-Guided Travel
The fixed rail route provides predictable and stable movement, making it suitable for transporting heavy workpieces between defined production stations.
Large Loading Platform
The flat platform accommodates workpieces with different dimensions, including fabricated frames, structural parts and heavy machine components.
Low-Profile Structure
A low deck height simplifies crane loading and helps maintain a lower center of gravity during heavy-load transportation.
Direct Spray Booth Connection
The flatcar can be integrated with the workshop rail layout to move workpieces directly into and out of the coating area.
Heavy-Duty Steel Frame
The reinforced platform structure is designed for industrial loads and stable support of heavy fabricated components.
Project-Specific Configuration
Platform size, load capacity, rail gauge, control method and safety functions can be configured according to the actual workshop conditions.
A Simple Cross-Process Transfer Workflow
The rail flatcar connects lifting equipment, fabrication areas and the spray booth into a continuous material-handling process.
Workpiece Loading
The overhead crane places the fabricated component directly onto the rail flatcar platform.
Rail Transfer
The flatcar travels along the workshop rail route toward the spray booth.
Coating Process
The workpiece is positioned in the designated coating area for painting or surface treatment.
Transfer to Next Process
After coating, the workpiece is transferred out of the booth and delivered to the next production stage.
Smoother Connection Between Fabrication and Coating Processes
The dedicated rail flatcar provides a practical transportation link between the production workshop and spray booth, helping simplify heavy workpiece handling throughout the coating process.
